1. Our Commitment
At Silver Dragon Cosplay, we want you to be happy with your purchase.
If you’ve changed your mind, received an incorrect item, or discovered a problem with your order, we’re here to help.
This policy explains how to cancel an order, return goods and request a refund or replacement. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law.
2. Changing Your Mind — 14-Day Cancellation Right
When you purchase eligible goods online, you normally have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason.
You have 14 calendar days after receiving your goods to tell us you wish to cancel. If your order contains multiple items delivered separately, the cancellation period generally runs from receipt of the final item.
After notifying us, you have a further 14 calendar days to return the goods.
This applies to eligible products including standard pre-cut foam sheets, threads, crafting supplies and fabric sold in standard ordered lengths.
You can notify us by emailing info@sdcosplay.co.uk or by sending us another clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may also use the cancellation form at the end of this policy.
3. Returning Unwanted Items
To arrange a return:
- Email info@sdcosplay.co.uk with your order number and the items you wish to return.
- We will provide instructions and the appropriate return address.
- Return the goods within 14 calendar days of notifying us of your cancellation.
- We recommend using a tracked postal service and retaining proof of postage.
You may inspect goods as you would in a physical shop.
If goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, we may make a lawful deduction for any resulting reduction in value.
Please include the original packaging where reasonably possible, but missing or opened packaging does not automatically remove your statutory cancellation rights.
Return postage: For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, provided this was disclosed before purchase.
4. Refunds for Cancelled Orders
For a valid cancellation, we will refund the amount due for the returned goods, together with any applicable original standard delivery charge.
If you selected a premium delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional amount above our standard delivery charge.
Where goods are being returned, we will issue the refund within 14 calendar days of receiving them back or receiving evidence that they have been sent back, whichever is earlier.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. No refund administration fee will be charged.
For partial order cancellations, any delivery refund will be calculated according to the applicable legal requirements.
5. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described or is not of satisfactory quality, please contact us at info@sdcosplay.co.uk.
Where possible, include:
- Your order number
- A description of the problem
- Photographs, if available and relevant
Photographs can help us resolve problems more quickly, but they are not an absolute condition of your statutory rights.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumers have legal remedies for goods that do not meet the required standards.
These may include:
- A short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days
- A repair or replacement where appropriate
- A price reduction or final right to reject in qualifying circumstances
Your rights may continue beyond these periods, depending on the circumstances.
Where goods do not conform to the contract, we will cover reasonable necessary return costs in accordance with our legal obligations. We may provide a prepaid return label or arrange another suitable return method.
There is no requirement to report faults within 48 hours to preserve your statutory rights. However, we encourage customers to contact us promptly so we can help resolve the issue.
6. Fabric, Foam and Custom-Made Products
Standard foam sheets: Our standard pre-cut foam sheets are normally eligible for the statutory cancellation right.
Fabric sold by length: Fabric supplied in standard ordered lengths is treated as eligible for cancellation under this policy.
Genuinely bespoke or personalised products: Goods made to an individual customer’s specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right where the legal exemption applies.
Any applicable exemption will be clearly explained before purchase.
These exemptions do not remove statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.
7. Sale and Clearance Products
Sale and clearance items retain the same statutory consumer rights as other products.
Discounted items may be returned under the statutory cancellation rules where eligible.
Goods that are faulty or not as described remain subject to the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Exchanges
If you would prefer an exchange, please contact us at info@sdcosplay.co.uk.
Exchanges are subject to stock availability and agreement.
If an alternative item costs more, we will explain any additional payment required before proceeding.
Your statutory rights to cancel or obtain remedies for faulty goods are not affected by our exchange arrangements.
9. Digital Products
Digital downloads and other digital content may be subject to different cancellation rules.
Where legally permitted, the cancellation right may be lost once digital supply begins, but only where the necessary express consent, acknowledgement and confirmation requirements have been met.
Any applicable conditions will be explained before purchase.
